I am leaving my current job to move back to the east coast, however, my principal is allowing me to drum up some candidates so here's the low down. This is a full time position that teaches acting and CTE technical theatre. Currently there are 2 levels for the acting based classes and 2 levels for the technical theatre classes. There are extra duty contracts for directing the fall play and spring musical which are presented in the professional performing arts center on our school campus, the Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts. This is a public high school with a student body of approximately 630 and 70- 75 students have been directly involved in the productions as cast or crew for the last three years. I am looking for suggestions for shows to consider for our fall play. I am at a small school in a very conservative town. I would love a show with a decent sized cast (14-18) mostly female. I would like to do something that is contemporary and topical, but not push the envelope too far. Full length and one act suggestios are welcome. Any ideas?
