Hey there,

I'm putting on Shrek the Musical in a couple of weeks and am looking for some advice on the right makeup for the ogres. Which type, specific color, where to get it, etc...

First though, has anyone done Shrek or a similar show who might have some insights into makeup questions? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
lighting companytag:www.theatreface.com,2013-04-25:2529492:Topic:1703592013-04-25T02:02:55.667ZCindyhttp://www.theatreface.com/profile/Cindy

I am located in Yorktown VA and I am in dire need of a reputable lighting specialist who can come and assess the situation with our light board and smart system and replace it if necessary at a reasonable cost. Any thoughts on where to find such a company or person?

Sometimes I ramble, but sometimes I just can't help myself. I really hate reporting on these industry accidents but it's clear that we have a collective wake-up call that can come from one of our fallen brethren. if nothing else, when a stagehand brother or sister dies on the job, it is our responsibility - our requirement - to learn how to stop that from happening to one more worker.

I'd love your thoughts.…

Play we're working up calls for a character to eat a newspaper. Anybody have a source for such a thing? There are sources of edible paper and ink, but before getting involved in that we were wondering if there is any availability of theatrical edible newsprint. This can't be the first time it has come up. Thanks.

Has anyone out there figured this out? Preferably would be controlled from the booth. Has anyone worked out, basically, a Tele-cue for cell phones? Unfotunately I cannot just call the onstage phone.

I myself have seen shadow play used twice (actors, not puppets). Once, it was a backlit screen in a Greek tragedy, where a series of silhouettes were used to illustrate the "obskene" death of a character being described by a messenger. The other time it was a cyclorama silhouette pantomime--short, for when the Creature meets the mute girl in Frankenstein. Both were visually stunning.
