<p>If you have an actual actor playing the role, you can use black light or glow in the dark paint on the face to paint the smile, make sure it's activated by the stage lights or whatever. When you go to black it'll glow. It works. It's cheap and it's safe.</p>

<p>Many years ago, in the mid '70's, I put a piece of white scrim in the tree that was stretched tight and shaped into the tree branches with leaves lightly painted on it in dye, not paint. We used 3 lights with gobo's for the cat face, the eyes and the smile. We faded out the face, then the eyes and then the smile. </p> <p></p> <p>If you can get a video projector with a tight enough picture, you could probably do it better and even animate the cat face. You should put some sound insulation…</p>

You should put some sound insulation under it to keep the fan from disturbing the house unless you can rear project.
