Our high school Drama Club has not worked on anything except murder mystery/comedies for the last 8-10 years. Last year I took over with very little experience. I teach Scenic Arts, now I am the only adult to choose and direct three shows per year. This year we did a rather artistic version of "Wonderland", "The Surprising Story of the Three Little Pigs", and "Cheaper By the Dozen". We are able to bring the visual aspects of shows together, however I am lacking in sources for solid shows that our predominantly female cast would be capable of performing. We think it is time to try a musical for the fall, time to choose is now!!! We have a great new auditorium but no musicians, so we would need to have a CD and any other type of direction for choreography since we are limited in our school resources. I keep reading plays, however I have looked over many scripts online and I am not finding many of the popular titles that would be simple enough for us beginners in high school. PLEASE HELP!!!

Starmites or Return to the Forbidden Planet. Also Zombie Prom.
The Fantastiks is a wonderful musical ... not a ton of characters, but still a great show.
