So I had a conversation with the software engineer and found out what they mean by the zero universe. If you were to buy the software, you would get with it a USB to DMX box. Later you could add a wing panel, at this point they would not charge you for the universe of DMX. Otherwise you could buy the software and wing panel together and then choose the quantity of universe's you want.

I've updated the description above to make sure it's clearer about the fact the review is indeed about the software and the control wing. Hopefully that should clarify things.

The pictured device is a Control Wing, by itself basically useless. The review is actually all about the software. Enlighten Stage Lighting controller version 2.70. I have not gotten very far into it yet so I will have to get back to you on how it functionally does all that you ask, including the mysterious "0" universe.

Hello Mister Ellison; i presume this device's function is to create and playback light cues? right? if you have a 60 channel light plot, what is the recipe to do that? if you have a 100 cues, how do you play them back? does this require a monitor to see what you're doing? how do you see pre-recorded intensity levels? how do you set the console to be a 0 universe dmx lighting control surface like jacob describes? and why would you want to do that? all the best, steve shelley
