Putting a Face on Theatre
A friend of the blog wrote me, looking for some advice -- figured I'd put it out there for everyone:
For our upcoming "Complete Works/Shakespeare" we need a human head pie prop. A search of the web and my catalogues has turned up nothing. Any ideas where I can get one?
Let him know here!
For such a unique prop I doubt they are out there "ready made". Have one made up using an old mannequin head from a cosmetology school usually found on Ebay or sometimes in junk/thrift stores. Red paint for blood, salt and flour mixed for the crust and distress it with hand painting or spray.

If you're interested in renting - The Utah Shakespeare Festival did it several years back - no idea if they have it, and they no longer have rental info on their website but you could contact them to see if they still had it in stock. www.bard.org
