However the story is told from the perspective of both partners one song at a time. The females songs go backwards (so her first song is after the divorce) and the males part goes foreward in time (his first song is the first date). both perspectives eventually meet in the middle before intermission with thier marriage. after intermission they continue on thier course moving in opposite directions so that the males last song is when he decides to leave while her last song is after the first date.

its wonderful i highly suggest it. its one of my al time greatest shows :) I know you said 2 person musi… tag:www.theatreface.com,2009-09-08:2529492:Comment:48486 2009-09-08T01:39:05.469Z Julie Nevin http://www.theatreface.com/profile/JulieNevin I know you said 2 person musical, but if you are flexible, Tick, Tick...Boom is three people, 2 male, 1 female. The action continues as in Act I where Jen raises her new child, but she also remembers all the things she went through with her brother when they were young. She begins smothering her boy, making sure he is always safe in her care, but the growing man slowly tries to gain autonomy from his mother and be his own person. In the second to last scene, Jen finds herself at her brother's grave, and finally comes to terms with what happened twenty years ago, promising to move on. Finally, Jen and her son reconcile and she is able to let him go, knowing that they will both be alright.

Two actors are needed: Jen (toddler through middle age), and John (baby to late teens/early 20s). The same actor plays both Johns.

The music is beautiful and the story is fantastic. I highly recommend it! You could also do the first act of The Apple Tree and cut the Snake's part. The original source (Mark Twain's the Diary of Adam and Eve) was a 2-character piece. Always Patsy is a 2-woman musical featuring the songs of Patsy Cline. Marry Me a Little is a great 2-person show. You could also do the first act of The Apple Tree and cut the Snake's part.
