hey does ANYONE know of a good FLAC to WAV converter for use on a Mac? Ive tried a bunch but they all either crash or simply do nothing when I drag the files in to be converted. Thanks!

Hey, does anyone know what console Carin Ford is using on La Cage Aux Follies (see the latest episode of American Theatre Wing's "In The Wings" podcast).

Thanks

Todd, I sent you a file. A little noisy but I hope it works out for you.

Hi Joe, thanks for checking out the interview. Yep, I'm still collecting audio files of "I love you" in exotic languages. best, Todd

Todd, that's a very cool piece, and your studio looks like a very creative space.

Do you still need the "I love you" recordings you asked for in early October, or is that project done with?

Dear friends,

I’m designing the music and sound for the 2011 Oregon Shakespeare Festival production of a new-ish play, The Language Archive. There is a moment when we hear the phrase “I love you” in as many languages as possible: living, endangered and extinct languages. So. . . I’m in the process of collecting my own research audio archive and need your kind help.

If you or someone you know could email me a little .mp3 (or any audio file for that matter) of the phrase “I love you” in any language I would be most appreciative!
It doesn’t have to be a professional recording, an iPhone or micro-recorder or even a laptop recording will do. These files are more for research of inflection, cadence, and musicality of the phrase.

Of course, the more obscure or even endangered languages are my primary focus. Also, any pointers or links to existing audio archives would be great to!
Feel free to forward this email to interested folks.

Files can be emailed to:
toddb@osfashland.org

Thank you in advance!

All best wishes,

Todd

Todd, I'm looking forward to hearing them! I posted a short montage of sounds from the show here: http://toxicbag.wordpress.com/2010/08/16/mackers-2010-and-the-water...
