Putting a Face on Theatre
If you want to add a baffle behind a floor microphone to improve rejection of the pit orchestra, here is an article about it. You can load the pdf file, then scroll down to the article on baffles.

Basically it's a 3" thick foam pad and a short vertical cardboard panel behind the microphone.
A drawback of the baffle is its appearance; it makes the floor mics more visible. A clear acrylic baffle does not work as well as a thin cardboard one because the cardboard baffle vibrates and acts like a diaphragmatic absorber of low frequencies. Some people use only a foam pad behind the mic to absorb high frequencies from the pit orchestra.
