Constant Contact has been good for us so far. It's certainly robust in what i can do, and I think we push ourselves to use more of it every year, but there is plenty we havent tapped into yet. CoolerEmail, Emma and PatronMail are all other similar services that I know a bit about, but am not completely well versed in.

Colleen, I agree that the new social media aspects of CC are exciting, but i wonder if there will be developments in metrics to track any of it. Obviously we cant currently capture any information about who is seeing our e-blasts when we post a CC unique URL link for people to check out. Very exciting though.

Thanks Jeremy...I'm going to continue my search and will let everyone know what I find. We use Constant Contact as well...LOVE IT! We also use Vertical Response just to send out a weekly/bi-weekly broadcast to our membership. They are free and it's a more user friendly third-party system however they don't have the beautiful templates of Constant Contact. I also like how CC can work with social media now.

Colleen,

We have this issue here, albeit in a different form. We have a page for "alumni," but it's really used as the public form for all things theatre.

I'm not sure of an app for separate pages, but with the way tabs work in FB, I would think it could be done.

Alex,
I want to encourage our department to move to Constant Contact or PatronMail. Are you pleased with Constant contact?

How are folks interconnecting FB, Twitter, and other social media services?

Stagecrafters in Royal Oak, MI uses Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare. On Facebook and Twitter, we post at least three times a week...sometimes a bit more when there is a need. Currently we remind people about upcoming auditions or announce new cast members, new events just added, challenge them to identify photos and announce special promotions. We are enhancing our pages next week with custom FBML and videos. Does anyone know of an app out there where I can give director's of each show their own show fan page for them to interact with them, esp. prior to auditions? Right now the director's are making their own pages separate from our OFFICIAL page and it's confusing the media and patrons. Does anyone else have this issue?

Hey there. I'm the Director of New Media at Wayne State University's Hilberry and Bonstelle Theatres. I keep up a blog for each theatre, maintain Constant Contact, deal with Facebook and Twitter, and try to stay on top of all the stuff that's new.
