So, I am hoping that somewhere out there (over the....sorry), someone will have a better idea or suggestion on cleaning wireless mic elements and transmitters. I usually use Rubbing Alcohol and a Q-tip on the packs, but what about the elements? After a sweat out? Removing the cap (if there is one), and putting it in a zip-loc bag with scillica gell seems to work, but any other ideas? I am hoping to keep my inventory from being depleted, and not breaking the bank with buying new ones all the time. Ideas?
We wash all assembled mics (Lavs too) with 99% Alcohol. Alcohol cleans and removes water. Then they must sit out and dry for several hours or over night in a dry area (no heat)
I'm using Countryman B3 in the hairline applications and E6 ear sets. Countryman claims they can live overnight in a can of coke and come away unharmed. I've not tried that, but distilled water and a little time drying gets it done for us every time. I'm sure that the 99% alcohol would work well as Steven suggests, but it can be hard to find sometimes.
