Looking for tech suggestions on floor mics

Theatre sound mixers, I'd like your input on design features for stage-floor microphones (also called area mics). For example, the tiny XLR connector at the mic can be rather fragile. Would you like to see a rugged, hard-wired cable instead?

Thanks,

Hi Bruce, have your mics and am looking forward to starting to play with them in earnest. If you want to add suggestions on things to look at or just join the discussion in general, join the group Gear Reviews. Thanks.
