Anyone here ever worked for Ringling?

Forum title says it all, really. If you've worked for Ringling, please share your general impression of the conditions. It's a given that the work is challenging at times, but what I'm more interested in is the life outside of the show- lodging, life on the train, meals, and the unusual things you come across...cheersSee More

V*L 3000 gobo bulkhead errors

Hey everyone, happy New Year! I wonder if any you fine folk might be of some help. I've got a V*L 3000 sitting in my shop that keeps giving a 'gobo 3 no sensor' error. I've swapped the wheel 3 sensor with the wheel 1 sensor, hoping the error would travel with it, but no dice. I replaced the wiring harness for the entire bulkhead with a known working spare, and the motor as well. I'm still getting the error. Thoughts? Thanks,-nick-See More

circus lighting

I'm designing a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream with a circus school. I have to light aerial silks, aerial hoop, static trapeze, and a flying trapeze number in addition to a traditional theatre lighting package. I've designed tons of shows for dance companies, and I'm aware of those particular limitations. Lighting circus acts is a whole different beast. Does anyone have any experience with this? What worked, and what didn't as far as safety and the artists' general requirements?See More
