I love lists, and while there’s been a lot of talk over my three years actively blogging about theatre about the failings of the Theatre Education Industrial Complex, we’ve not really attempted to create a curriculum we approve of. Trish Causey NEW SEASON of "Musical Theatre Talk' started today!

AWESOME DAY I had an AWESOME DAY!!! Started the morning having coffee with a friend -- one of my upcoming guests, Jay Rogers. An hour and a half at the cafe` of Barnes & Noble flew by. He's such a wonderful guy! I hated to leave, but had to prep for the Season 2 opener of my radio show this afternoon: "Musical Theatre vs Opera: Round 2" at 5 pm/4 pm http://bit.ly/nijjO (347) 237-5224. I have a little bit of cash to play with, but I must work full time, which means no five-days-a-week intensive courses. I'm looking for something in the $150-$200 range, evenings or weekends. 2) I've been burned… Continue

Crystal Smith The Intervention (A Short Play)

The Intervention Setting. God’s house. At rise. JESUS and SATAN are sitting on the couch in God’s living room. SATAN Where is he? You said he’d be here by now! JESUS He’s usually home by six. Jacob Coakley American Idiot Review, Part 1

Alright, so I suppose I should put some thoughts about American Idiot into words before I completely forget about it. This is very sketchy and in note form. (You can see the pics I uploaded here.) Overall impression? Fun, ampy, splashy show. Had a great time. Not sure how it really works as a play. Dramatic conflict? Not so much. I wasn’t familiar with the story when I went in, but it goes something… Continue
