Putting a Face on Theatre
Stage Directions is searching for the best high school theatres from across the country—but the deadline for nominating schools is fast approaching! The 2015 Stage Directions High School Theatre Honors needs your submissions of fantastic high school theatres by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27. Students, parents, volunteers and teachers are encouraged to nominate outstanding programs at www.bit.ly/sd2015tophs.
“The High School Theatre Honors Program commends the excellent work that happens on a daily basis in high school theatres across the country,” said Jacob Coakley, editor of Stage Directions magazine. “And this submission process is how we hear about them. I encourage everyone to let us know about the great high school theatre teachers, programs, schools and volunteers near them!”
Now in its eighth year, the Stage Directions High School Theatre Honors Program celebrates the best in educational drama, profiling the winning schools in the November issue of Stage Directions magazine. Submissions from teachers, administrators, students, fans and volunteers are the main avenue programs become eligible for the awards, and schools are encouraged to drum up as much support as they can in the nomination process.
In addition to the open nomination process, Stage Directions conducts an informal survey of teachers, professors and recruiters across the country to find schools that excel. Winners are chosen in five regions: Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Northwest, Southwest.
High Schools can be nominated for the awards at www.bit.ly/sd2015tophs.
