Putting a Face on Theatre
The Seven Devils Playwrights Conference just announced the playwrights they'll be working with in June up in McCall, Idaho. My time spent there was one of the best theatrical experiences of my life -- a magical couple of weeks discussing new plays and writing in amazing surroundings. (Most surreal moment? A June snowstorm as the sun set at 10 p.m. in the evening just as we were leaving the theatre after a show. That was magic.)
I was recently talking with a friend at USITT and he was mentioning how everyone should have their summer hiring done by now. And all of this got me thinking: What are YOUR summer plans? Taking a summer study program? Working an internship at a theatre? Heading up your own shop at an summer fest? Working with a local company on their outdoor piece? Or just attending? Let me know how you'll be taking in theatre this summer!
