The set presented some challenges but our TD and Designer, Dave Griffie, came up with this two level set that also has a turntable built into the bottom level. Scenery rotated on and off through the slatted doors as needed. The upper level also had a cyc on which projections were made. The young man's face you commented on is, indeed, a study in unsettling moments. He is both a full time student AND a full time… The shot from THE ADDING MACHINE marks a departure for us from non-realistic plays. The young man's face you commented on is, indeed, a study in unsettling moments. He is both a full time student AND a full time staff member at Fayetteville State University. This is also the first time we've worked with neutral masks (at one point in the play using them in somewhat of a minstrel show atmosphere--ironic in itself since the cast is predominantly African-American on an HBCU campus!) We really enjoyed this tour of non-realism and plan to explore more!
