I am looking for a job in the technical aspect of theater. I am looking for lighting or stage hand or something in that nature. I do not have any professional experience just college. Any ideas where I can look for open positions? A few job search sites I found most people are looking for some professional work experience. Where can I try to find some professional work experience with out having any prior? Any help and or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

You could apprentice at a summer stock or regional theater, but you may be too late for this year. Those inquires should go out in January, but you might get lucky.
Obviously you're in the catch 22 of to get experience you need experience. Then of course, there is just building a network of theater folks. Volunteers of all kinds are always wanted at pretty much every community and non-profit theater in the region, now more than ever. But even with that getting where you want to be won't happen quickly. My advice is hit those but if they say something like, "we're covered with the lights/backstage aspect, but will you work the ticket booth on some show nights?" TAKE IT. Then you can meet people, hear about other opportunities, and most important, hang with the crew and learn things. Good luck!
